Vanuatu exige un certificat sanitaire endossé par les autorités pour les chiens. Le certificat sanitaire animal international de l'Appendice 2 doit être signé par un vétérinaire officiel du pays exportateur, et non par un vétérinaire de clinique privée. Prenez rendez-vous avec un vétérinaire officiel et vérifiez que sa signature et son tampon figurent sur l'EHC avant le départ vers l'aéroport.
Vanuatu interdit purement et simplement 6 races de chiens : Pit Bull Terrier, American Pit Bull Terrier, Fila Brasileiro, Dogo Argentino, Presa Canario et Tosa japonais. Vérifiez la race du chien avant de réserver, car ces races sont refusées à l'entrée quels que soient les documents ou permis. Le propriétaire doit aussi signer la déclaration de l'Appendice 1 confirmant que le chien n'en fait pas partie.
Questions fréquentes
Et si mon vol est retardé au-delà de la validité du certificat sanitaire ? Si la fenêtre du certificat expire avant l'embarquement, il faudra le faire réémettre. Prévoyez 1 à 2 jours de marge entre la date du certificat et le départ pour absorber les retards mineurs. Que se passe-t-il si j'oublie un document ? À l'aéroport de destination : au mieux, une inspection prolongée le temps que vous trouviez une copie ; au pire, l'animal est mis en quarantaine ou renvoyé à l'origine à vos frais. Apportez des copies imprimées.

Vanuatu maintient les chiens importés en quarantaine post-entrée pendant 28 jours dans un établissement approuvé par la BV. Réservez une place de quarantaine avant d'acheter les billets, car les places sont limitées et le compteur de 28 jours ne démarre qu'une fois le chien admis. Prévoyez la pension quotidienne sur les 28 jours, plus les frais d'admission et d'inspection.
Vanuatu demande beaucoup en amont : permis d'importation, certificat sanitaire officiel et désormais quarantaine pour les chats comme pour les chiens. Cooper a déjà fait ce voyage trois fois, et le secret a toujours été le séquençage, pas la chance. Construisez un plan Pawgo pour vos dates exactes : il cale chaque permis, chaque certificat et la fenêtre de quarantaine de 28 jours à rebours de votre vol, pour que rien n'expire.
