Voyager vers EU avec son animal demande trois documents dans le bon ordre : une puce électronique, un vaccin antirabique dans la fenêtre d'attente de la destination, et un certificat sanitaire émis par les autorités. La puce électronique doit être posée avant l'administration du vaccin antirabique. Un vaccin injecté avant la pose de la puce n'est pas reconnu pour l'entrée dans l'UE. Faites poser la puce en premier chez le vétérinaire. Programmez ensuite le vaccin lors d'une visite ultérieure. Vérifiez que la date de puçage précède bien celle de la vaccination sur le passeport.

Questions fréquentes

Mon animal a-t-il besoin d'une puce électronique pour EU ?
Oui. EU exige une puce électronique aux normes ISO, posée avant la vaccination antirabique pour être valable.
Combien de temps avant le voyage le vaccin antirabique doit-il être fait pour EU ?
Le vaccin antirabique doit prendre effet au moins 21 jours avant l'entrée, et peut être administré dès 16 semaines. Voyager avant ce délai rend la vaccination invalide à la frontière.
Et si mon vol est retardé au-delà de la validité du certificat sanitaire ?
Si la fenêtre du certificat expire avant l'embarquement, il faudra le faire réémettre. Prévoyez 1 à 2 jours de marge entre la date du certificat et le départ pour absorber les retards mineurs.
Que se passe-t-il si j'oublie un document ?
À l'aéroport de destination : au mieux, une inspection prolongée le temps que vous trouviez une copie ; au pire, l'animal est mis en quarantaine ou renvoyé à l'origine à vos frais. Apportez des copies imprimées.
Le certificat sanitaire est valable 10 jours à compter de sa date de délivrance par le vétérinaire officiel. Planifiez le voyage à l'intérieur de cette fenêtre de 10 jours. Fixez le rendez-vous vétérinaire au plus proche du départ. Obtenez le certificat après tous les autres documents. Contrôlez la date d'émission avant de partir pour éviter un dépassement.
